The overall aim of the project will be to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to develop capacities to prioritize locally relevant climate adaptation. It will take a systems approach to supporting climate adaptation through interventions that plan, pilot and scale nature-based solutions (NbS) for climate adaptation that contribute to improving biodiversity and gender equality.
The aim of the NbS gender-sensitive baseline study is to help key stakeholders define, measure, and document the project’s achievements in terms of a set of expected outcomes; and to provide them with the means to collaboratively measure progress towards them, as well as to review them as necessary and appropriate. The baseline study will achieve four specific objectives:
- Promote a better understanding of NbS project implementation contexts prior to the start of implementation;
- Provide evidence to validate the project’s Theory of Change hypotheses, as well as to inform the program’s implementation strategy;
- Establish baseline values for Performance Measurement Framework indicators and their relevant disaggregations, recommend adjustments in their formulation where necessary, and support the definition of their end-of-project targets;
- Provide recommendations for the development and implementation of the results-based monitoring, evaluation, research and learning plan for the project, including (but not limited to) future data collection exercises.
